A trusting relationship
Create space for a young person to speak freely about their ideas, questions, and challenges.
Our first initiative · Mentorship from age 13
Support the next generation by surrounding young people with adults ready to listen, encourage them, and help them discover their potential.

About us
Hand of Emmanuel is an Ottawa-based nonprofit. Inspired by Christian values of service, we welcome people of all backgrounds and seek to act with compassion, dignity, and respect.
We believe meaningful support begins with a human connection. Our first initiative is building a mentorship network for young people aged 13 and older alongside families and people who want to support young people.
Our aim is to bring volunteers and partners together around thoughtful, responsible support that gives young people hope for the future.
Our vision
Hand of Emmanuel aims to invest in the next generation by bringing together women and men across generations who are ready to mentor young people and help them look to the future with confidence.
Our aim is to strengthen the positive network around each young person, alongside parents and family.
Our first initiative
Every young person needs people who believe in them. A mentor can offer a steady presence, attentive listening, and positive guidance shaped by the young person’s needs and aspirations.
Create space for a young person to speak freely about their ideas, questions, and challenges.
Help them build confidence, strengthen relationships, and make informed choices.
Stand alongside them as they think about school, social pressure, careers, and their hopes for the future.
Our approach
Mentorship is built on lasting relationships, respect for each young person, and collaboration with families. We hope to bring people from different generations together around this vision.
Adults willing to give their time, share their experience, and encourage without judgment.
A mentor adds to a young person’s circle of support and does not replace their family.
Each relationship begins with the person, their strengths, and the possibilities they want to explore.
